Prism One Word 2016: Join Us and Win!

“Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish.”

-Proverbs 29:18a, AMPC

Harvard Business School researched the importance of setting specific goals. They discovered 84% of graduates had no specific goals while 13% had goals, although unwritten; a mere 3% had written down specific goals with a strategy to achieve them. The 3% with defined goals and strategies earned on average 10 times more than those who did not, combined[1].

It’s no coincidence that biblical advice reveals the same wisdom: when we seek God about his vision for us, the likelihood of our lives feeling more significant, meaningful, and focused increases.

This is why several of us at Prism Women have asked the Lord for a “one word” and corresponding scripture every year: it not only trains us to hear His voice better, but it allows us the two-fold opportunity of witnessing the prophetic evince itself by year’s end while building our faith and even hope.

In the next few weeks, we’ll each share with you the testimony of our One Words from 2015 and/or reveal our #PrismOneWord2016. Here’s what we’re going to pray for, and we ask you to do the same:

  1. Ask God for a specific one word; write it down and don’t overthink, criticize, or interpret it
  2. Ask God for a corresponding Scripture; write it down and don’t fret if it doesn’t make complete sense just yet
  3. Share your word with us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Email with the hashtag #PrismOneWord2016

From now until March 1, we’ll share your words to encourage each other, and one random participant will receive a ticket to our 2016 retreat, Prism :: Roots (a $180 value).

To get you started, may I remind you of my experience, which I’ll write about in full next week: My One Word 2015 didn’t make much sense until December; in fact, the events throughout the year seemed to result in my receiving the opposite of my word. Only now can I see the outcome of what God promised through the One Word. Likewise, my word for 2016 feels mysterious in a different way, as my word is more adventurous. Full of the excitement born of the unknown, I wonder how I’ll see this new word come about.

Only time will tell.

What’s your #PrismOneWord2016 and Scripture? Share it with us in the comments, on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Email! [Don’t forget the hashtag!]

We can’t wait to hear your stories.

Gather with us for Prism :: Roots!

So the Lord very half hazardly sent me to your FB page. I am not in Arizona, in Tennessee actually, but I have a very strong sense of being pulled to your Prism event. I don’t quite understand just yet, but just wanted to introduce myself. So, hello. 🙂

may the Lord reveal his purposes. 🙂 Oh and my word this year (first time I have ever participated in choosing just one word) is Limitless; Romans 12 is the inspiration there.

    Brianna,

Thank you for introducing yourself. Hello! We trust the Lord will reveal his purposes. In the meantime, we invite you to stay in touch and even come to our retreat in May, if possible. We pray for Limitless opportunities for you this year. May Jesus bless, bless, bless you.

Jennie, I am good weepy at this! Though my word this year is fearless, the invitation of all in and pursuing God in a full on run has been whispered to my heart over the last few years. so it was yet another confirmation of his purpose and heart for ALL of us! Thank you for sharing! ?
