Even the Undeserving: My One Word

I’ve always loved the idea of honor between kings and their knights and guardsmen. The word alone encourages a type of respect, appreciation, and thankfulness that goes beyond the traditional understanding of the word.   There are a few people whom the word seems to be synonymous with, like William Wallace (Braveheart), Robin Hood, King Arthur, and Martin Luther King, Jr. By these examples, it can lend to being more of a descriptor for those who stand above the norm, to stand for social justice and rise above social norms. I have always thought I know how to spot those worthy to...

When God Asks Me to Chase Him: My One Word

Can I be completely honest? As we (Prism Women) launched an entire campaign for the "One Word" concept for 2016 I felt so excited. I am a full believer in the concept of seeking God for something special He has for us as a new year turns. God's character bleeds with new beginnings, fresh revelations, renewed inspiration, change, zeal and preparation for whats to come. I was joyfully anticipating what God would be doing in all the amazing women that jumped in and what different things He would speak to everyone for exactly where they are at.   Inside myself was an...

No One Said It Would Be Easy: My One Word

It’s not easy choosing to follow the Lord. If they told you it would be, they lied.   It’ll break your heart. He’ll break your heart. They’ll break your heart. You’ll find yourself pleading with the God of the Universe for just one, small, crumb from His table…   It’s not easy. It’s devastating, at times. Following Jesus leaves you bare, exposed, and open.   But, it’s also romantic--the Creator of all things, holding each atom together in perfect harmony, is deeply, passionately, fervently in love with you.   It’s poetic--a man, climbing upon a cross to die for his friends. Then offering them life eternal.   It’s wild--life...

My One Word: The F! Word

I know what you're thinking, but this "F!" doesn't mean what you think it does.   This "F!" is from my love language catalogue: Fun.   When I first heard my One Word 2016, hope swelled within me, but then I wondered if it was too good to be true. I am three-quarters full-of-faith and one-quarter plagued-with-doubt. I requested a Scripture confirmation, and I received this:   [blockquote text='"Who has performed and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he." -Isaiah 41:4' text_color='' title_tag='' width='' line_height='undefined' background_color='' border_color='' show_quote_icon='no' quote_icon_color='' quote_icon_size='']   At once I understood the connection of...

Prism One Word 2016: Join Us and Win!

“Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish.” -Proverbs 29:18a, AMPC   [dropcaps type='circle' color='' background_color='' border_color='']H[/dropcaps]arvard Business School researched the importance of setting specific goals. They discovered 84% of graduates had no specific goals while 13% had goals, although unwritten; a mere 3% had written down specific goals with a strategy to achieve them. The 3% with defined goals and strategies earned on average 10 times more than those who did not, combined[1].   It’s no coincidence that biblical advice reveals the same wisdom: when we seek God about his vision for us, the likelihood of our lives feeling...
